I am not a fan of store bought hot sauces, something about many of them makes me feel ill, so whenever I want to do something like ‘Hunters Chicken’ I make fresh. Here is my recipe
*Please note the ingredients linked here are linked to Amazon, and to my affiliates account.
Ingredients:
1 ½ cups golden sugar
1 ½ cups tomato ketchup
½ cup red wine vinegar
½ cup water (if required)
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 ½ tablespoons dry mustard (preferably Colemans English Mustard)
2 teaspoons paprika (I prefer using Hot smoked Paprika)
2 teaspoons salt (fresh ground)
1 ½ teaspoons black pepper (fresh ground)
2 tablespoons Sriracha hot sauce. (I use flying goose)
Method:
Combine all ingredients in a container with a screw top lid, Shake vigorously. Depending on the consistency required water can be added to make the sauce thinner. If you wish to make a thicker sauce you can exchange the Ketchup for tomato puree.
This may be refrigerated for up to a month.
