Weather, and revisiting the past!

Ecowitt GW1101-7in1 and gateway

In years gone by I won awards for data quality and uptime from the MetOffice. When I moved here my Weather Station was damaged, and then I decided that replacing it was not a priority.

Roll on the end of 2023 and I decided that because I was staying in the UK I would like to go back down the route of getting a new station. As it turns out things technologically have moved on in some ways.

So I decided with much help and advice to go down the route of an Ecowitt GW1101 station, which is basically a WS69 sensor package, the GW1100 RF to Wifi gateway and inside sensors, and on top of that the WH57 lightning detector.. I will be adding the data to this site shortly with the aid of Weather Display (Software) and PWS_Dashboard. If you remember the Old MM0ZIF site, you will have seen the capablities of this combination if not you will see soon enough. On Monday the Sensor package gets installed on it’s mast (WX dependent) and the whole subdomain for weather should become active here.
